"de Meo & Associati" was an independent medium-sized law Firm with office in Rome. The Firm has been described as "a Rome based firm led by esteemed name partner Michele de Meo, an expert in shipping and litigation of international repute, a former founding partner of Ughi & Nunziante."

The current profile of the Firm was the result of the development of the Rome office, its merger with other firms and collaboration with independent consultants working in specific fields of expertise. The members of the Firm had built up a network of contacts over the past thirty years with other Lawyers in Europe and the rest of the world which enable them to deal comfortably with international matters across a wide range of countries. The Firm is able to carry out its work in both Italian and English.

The Firm was made up of a staff of lawyers and support staff, comprising various different nationalities with an average age of 35. Many of the staff are familiar with at least one foreign language, and are each specialist in a number of different legal fields, both contentious and non-contentious, including commercial law, corporate law, banking and bankruptcy law, international law, property law, shipping and aviation law, civil litigation and both Italian and international contract law.

"de Meo & Associati" works since many years for foreign investor in Italy and is also active in the field of conciliatory mediation and was a key player in the formation of the "Italian Society for the Mediation of Disputes" (SIMED). Some of its members are lecturers on mediation and mediators themselves.

The Firm provides the Client with clear, practical and comprehensive legal advice, with the aim of resolving cases promptly and cost effectively and also with legal support to the Client, whatever his requirements, in all aspects including his business, work and family; it provides assistance in a wide range of areas from the negotiation of contracts to the resolution of disputes standing by the Client, offering him also an alternative solution to conflict resolution through conciliatory mediation. It is Firm's philosophy to specify and agree from the outset with the Client a precise schedule of costs for each item of work carried out, in accordance with current guidelines on legal fees, as well as providing regular written reports on the progress of the case.
